“If you listen to friends & relatives spouting ridiculous nonsense about current events, this is the book you need.”
Head down the rabbit hole and feed your fascination for conspiracy and controversy. Conspiracy theories—they’re influential and spread to sometimes irrational extremes. Why do people cling to conspiracy theories so powerfully? Is there a way to separate the possible from the impossible?
Yes. Enter: Debunked.
Conspiracy theories pop up surrounding every major national and global event—some are possible, some are not. TikTok influencer and psychology professor Casey Lytle will teach you how to be an intelligent consumer of “alternative” theories. Lytle’s trademark “project management approach” will help you discern possible from impossible in the popular and controversial theories surrounding 10 national and global events.
9/11—No fewer than 10 alternative theories have gained traction. But let’s evaluate: Did the Twin Towers really look like a controlled demolition? Would jet fuel have to melt steel for the towers to collapse? What would it take in hours and people to secretly plant enough explosives to bring the buildings down without being discovered, and without being set off by the impact and fires from the planes? All this and more in Chapter 7.
COVID-19—The vaccine implants a microchip used to track people; the fatality rate has been wildly inflated; oh, and Bill Gates is not only responsible for the virus but also the head of a plot to use the virus as population control.
School shooters—why are they so easy to explain, but so hard to predict? In what ways has the profile of a school shooter changed over the last 25 years, and what has caused those changes? Are school shootings a new phenomenon, or does the media simply make us more aware of them when they happen? The chapter will cover Sandy Hook conspiracy theories, as well as the psychology behind “truthers.”

There are lots of folks that spook on new technologies: Thamus couldn’t cope with books.
Lytle has some interesting theories about the how and why of the conspiracy movement. I’m not sure I’m convinced, but I’m intrigued.
He isn’t so good on actual detail as some other commentators (several of whom popty has already posted); but this is such an interesting field, one can hardly have too much on it.

Conspiracy theories are less damaging to society than the confederate stupidity of “tiktok influencers”.

@ockymofo
I wonder if it addresses the dancing Israelis.

So i guess the 3000-5000+ architects, engineers and building professionals ( AE911Truth ) just blagged there way to get all their credentials, even though they have exposed this crime as a false flag through and through? Its getting to the point of ridiculousness. How do barely capable Saudis hijack separate planes with box cutters, fly around for hours unchallenged, then make impossible maneuvers to knock down 3 buildings with 2 planes, hit the pentagon while making the engines magically teleport before impact, and make 44 fire reinforced steel columns magically vaporize into dust toward the path of most resistance, at freefall speed with temperatures that would make the collapses impossible ( including that no steel skyscrapers ever collapsed from fires )
You must be a real conspiracy theorists maga crazy to not believe in the offishal TM story. Science!
If you cannot face facts, you are actively denying reality aka mental illness.

One of the things I did learn from this book is how thoroughly the WTC attack has been leveraged by Evangelical churches as a fundraiser.
AE911Truth is very much a real organization, and:
‘AE911Truth is dedicated to educating people from all walks of life about the explosive destruction of the WTC skyscrapers, and this mission has enlightened a variety of faith communities.’
I’m grateful to privateero for reminding me just how many Presbyterian, Baptist and Pentecostal communions have profited from 9/11 denial; but I guess if you believe that the Earth is flat and 6,000 years old, the rest comes easy.

@pryderi
You’re much, much more likely to find an evangelical church using 9/11 to justify their dedication to Israel - a thoroughly anti-Christian nation - than to be hosting AE9/11 Truth.
