Hervoken Halloween Xana’s First Day
Night of the Yssgaroth was the first full-length novel in the SIGNET series, written by range editor James Hornby. The physical release of the novel also included three short stories — comprising Hervoken Halloween, previously released in Horrors of Arcbeatle and as an online extra, as well Xana’s First Day and Coda.
As the name implied, the novel prominently featured the Yssgaroth, the eldritch gestalt progenitor of vampirism introduced in Neil Penswick’s Virgin New Adventure The Pit [+]. The book also contained minor licensed appearances or mentions of Sixth Doctor companion Grant Markham, LONGBOW and the Canisians. Hornby’s own creations Sir Henry Farthing and The Nocturne also carried over from the P.R.O.B.E. series.

So, this features a character, who was a companion, only in the Target novels, of the Sixth Doctor… as a ‘minor licensed character’.
That’s kind of like including some random Star Trek book in the tag because IDW did a Doctor Who/Star Trek comic in 2012.

It IS Doctor Who related! Yssgaroth is important part of the mythology from the DW wilderness years and Lawrence Miles’ Faction Paradox spinoff. A major enenemy of the Time Lords and one of the core building blocks of this universe. The State of Decay vampires were the avatars of Yssgaroth! IMHO it’s like saying Darth Bane novels are not proper Star Wars.
