Supposedly naughty kids and Disability Living Allowance and Carer’s Allowance. Let me think. Oh, and Retalin as come down for cocaine addicts.

@MrMajestyk, nobody has any idea what you are on about. If you are going to comment, please take the time to articulate your thoughts.
Can’t tell whether you are recommending this book or condemning it.

He’s just talking through his a-hole. Commenting within an hour of me putting up the book, he could hardly have taken the time to listen to it. Attention seeker.

Attention seeker. Very funny. Perhaps I have ADHD.
ADHD is a scam. Although its a genuine condition, it’s overdiagnosed. In the UK if your child is diagnosed as having ADHD they are entitled to roughly 300 pounds a month disability allowance and the parents are entitled to carers allowance plus a free disability car. I know this because I work in education and I have parents demanding daily that I support their application for Disability Living Allowance. Some cases are genuine. Most aren’t. It’s just a benefits gravy train. Just my opinion. I believe around fifteen per cent of children are now diagnosed with ADHD. That’s up from around five per cent a few years back. I couldn’t begin to understand why.

If anything, rates of ADHD are recognised as undiagnosed. Sorry if that doesn’t tally with your personal bias, but - you know - science says differently.

And the funniest part @MrMajestyk is that the article you link to directly contradicts the very point you make. To quote:”What is clear, however, is that ADHD is often untreated or incorrectly treated. About 3 in 4 children with ADHD receive some type of treatment, but only 32% receive the combination of medication and behavioral treatment that most experts, including the American Academy of PediatricsTrusted Source, recommend.”

@MrMajestyk, yes you are the attention seeker (and I suspect, amongst many other things). If you don’t suffer the effects of the condition, or know first-hand the effect the condition has on people you love (and I am pretty sure you DON’T love your students), then you are not qualified to broadcast your “expert judgement”, and I feel sorry for the students under your ‘care’.
I am speaking of this as a person with 40 years of ADHD and know first-hand, the effects it has on my life and the daily struggles I have to deal with.
If you are so sure of your beliefs, go and speak out in ADHD support groups for children and adults, and with all the medical professionals, instead of putting sinister remarks behind the anonymity of the web.

ty uploader, good work!
@MrMajestyk - what nasty judgmental remarks! what is your job in education exactly? for some reason you can’t even read and/or comprehend the very article that you reference.
i feel for the people that rely on your “support” and i definitely hope that you’re not a teacher.

I wish I had been diagnosed with this disorder when I was a child - my life could/would have been so different. I would never have been that naughty unhappy child who always wished she were dead. I also have dyslexia which is a double blow when you have an above average IQ.
I had to wait until I was 66 years old for my diagnosis of severe ADHD and gratefully - medication. It feels like coming out of an angry, frustrated fog.
Don’t ever think coping with this condition is a matter of self discipline - it is not and the drugs work wonderfully. I am so thankful that I can no cope more easily.
