While I enjoy the writer’s works I found this one to be sorely lacking in all matters. The main character seemed like a depressed and pessimistic knockoff of Master Chief from Halo (Complete with Cortana ai system), The overall attitude of the team he ended up with would feel right at home in a FEMIN march. Causing unnecessary conflict between the characters that overshadowed the whole book. The story was slow and pedantic, and the so-called action was sorely lacking in the grip factor. And the so-called sex scene …. yes scene, was so short and forced it seemed to be thrown in as an afterthought in editing. It was like they tossed it in as a replacement for actual character development.

Knight summed this one up pretty well. I’ve listened to all of Cipriano’s audiobooks and this is by far the weakest of the bunch. No worldbuilding whatsoever, unengaging action scenes, and well… Honestly every part of this book fell flat.
